This tiny desert butterfly is called a "San Emigdio Blue" (Plebejus emigdionis) and its full wingspan is only about 1 cm at it's widest point. He was the dickens to catch (in a shot), too, because he was very active and would dash off as soon as I got near enough to catch him in macro ... ;oD

ReplyDeleteVery nicely done Robin Griggs Wood and I know from experience how tricky these small butterflies are. Managed Europe's smallest last year, the Grass Jewel - about the size of the smallest fingernail. So, about the same size as your beauty.
