I’m an artist . . . but that’s not saying much, because I believe, and it is something that I have devoted my time heavily to convey, that art expression is an inherent property of human nature. The media may vary, but not the innate disposition.

Those that know me have heard my “talent-as-myth” diatribe all too often, and if you end up tuning in to my posts, you will encounter it soon enough. It is my goal to change the notion, which a great number of people resign to, that one needs to have “talent” to pursue the art they feel or want and am doing this on a daily basis through my program in the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers.

With that as preface, I will probably devote a portion of my posts to inspiring artists, but I also plan to impart other conceptions that I have about life in general, with the goal of elevating, encouraging, enlivening or energizing those who read them.

Let me begin with this:

I wish for you the ability to create for yourself all that your heart desires.

They really have no idea what they are singing, they just heard it coming from a bar up on the cliff one night and have been singing it ever since. It sounds a bit like this: https://youtu.be/pXrK5sUd7Uo?t=47s

I love the one's at the bottom of the frame. One is passed out, the other is looking at us like he's thinking, "how much more of this am I expected to endure?"

Liz Kaetterhenry is the Princess Pirate!

I had a great time hanging out in real life with Liz, Sassi Sassmannshausen and Alex Bellanger at Victoria Beach in Laguna. Liz is an awesome model! She didn't hesitate when I showed her this costume I brought, was game for everything I threw at her and so playful. She was shooting me while I was shooting her ... haha ... ;o))) Thank you for being so awesome, Liz! Thanks to Alex for bringing his pirate stuff, too!

The FINDING YOUR VISION mentorship is ready for sign-ups!

The FINDING YOUR VISION mentorship is ready for sign-ups!

This is a special program designed specifically for beginner to intermediate Street Photographers. (Please note "Beginner" means you've shot some Street Photography prior to taking this mentorship)

In this mentorship I will share my Understanding of the elements that make a strong image. Firstly by analysing images captured. Secondly by increased awareness through mindful practice at Street. By the end of the mentorship, participants will have a better understanding of these elements, that should be reflected in their images.
Also a better understand principles of design and their own personal vision.

This mentorship is offered through the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers

I will be taking on a handful of people for an 8 week on-line mentorship program which will include lessons, assignments, and informal discussions. Everyone who participates can have fun and learn at the same time!

I’ve been taking photos for just over 30 years, and have specialised in Street Photography for the past 2 years.
I’m a Sphere 2 graduate from the Arcanum. Most of my Street Photography has been self taught, but also formally through workshops and the Arcanum.

The applicants will need to be already have experience shooting Street Photography.
You will need to be available to shoot at street at least once a week for 6 of the 8 week program.
Assignments will be posted on a Friday so you need have time available to complete them each week.

Processing in Adobe Lightroom or similar is preferred but not essential.

Sign up will be open until Saturday the 11th March. Selections will begin on the 12th March for the Mentorship beginning Sunday the 19th March 2017.

These are the selection criteria:

The only time anyone should ever take anything of a TIGER is to takeit's photograph.

The only time anyone should ever take anything of a TIGER is to take it's photograph.
When the buying stops, the killing can, too.
"Tigers face many challenges in the wild, from loss of habitat to conflicts with humans, but the biggest threat continues to be poaching. Tigers are killed by poachers who illegally sell tiger body parts, mostly for folk remedies. People can help protect wild tigers by avoiding products made with non-sustainable palm oil, an industry that harms tiger habitat; and by refusing to purchase items made from endangered wildlife."
(source: http://zoonooz.sandiegozoo.org)

Here is how tigers are used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrzt-zHIdf0 ... and there is no scientific evidence that the use has any genuine effect, except placebo (the person's mind and belief making them well). Why does a tiger have to die for this?! It baffles the mind.

When the buying stops, the killing can, too.
