I'M HERE TO EMPOWER YOU!

I’m an artist . . . but that’s not saying much, because I believe, and it is something that I have devoted my time heavily to convey, that art expression is an inherent property of human nature. The media may vary, but not the innate disposition.

Those that know me have heard my “talent-as-myth” diatribe all too often, and if you end up tuning in to my posts, you will encounter it soon enough. It is my goal to change the notion, which a great number of people resign to, that one needs to have “talent” to pursue the art they feel or want and am doing this on a daily basis through my program in the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers.

With that as preface, I will probably devote a portion of my posts to inspiring artists, but I also plan to impart other conceptions that I have about life in general, with the goal of elevating, encouraging, enlivening or energizing those who read them.

Let me begin with this:

I wish for you the ability to create for yourself all that your heart desires.

My Morning

My Morning
From the "Top of the Rock", NYC. My sweetie wanted to get up as high as possible to shoot and there are three good options in Manhattan––without incurring the expense of a helicopter ... ;o7––The Empire State building, Rockefeller Plaza (the "Top of the Rock") and the Freedom Tower (World Trade Center). With no time to do it all, we got to the Empire State observation deck and the "Top of the Rock" (the latter has 3 decks and you get to choose any or all).

I will say, the difference between the two is staggering. The Empire State building SUCKED in so many ways! They treat you like cattle there and are so unfriendly and unhelpful. At one point I got injured when a tourist shoved me into a piece of metal sticking out of the wall and the staff DIDN'T CARE one jot! I couldn't wait to get out of there. At the "Top of the Rock" the staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. They laugh, offer suggestions and advice for the best views and are super kind for any help you need.

If you're headed to the "Top of the Rock", get there early for fewer people and luscious light (8 a.m., if you didn't stay out too late the night before ... ;o)). I would do this again and again ... the ES building, never again!

I'm sticking around until the "G+ is gone" error message appears on my profile page ... ;oD. But, since a lot of folks are pulling up stakes and moving on already, I thought I'd pop my other spaces in here.
I'm going to miss so many folks!
