The Baroque Garden
On any given day you can see bunnies munching on the pristine lawn and parrot flocks flying overhead. This isn't the only thing you'll see, if you go to the The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens. It contains many gardens over its 120 acres, including a Chinese Garden, Desert Garden, Japanese Garden, Australian Garden, Camellia Garden, Children's Garden, Conservatory, Herb Garden, Lily Pond, Jungle Garden, Palm Garden, Ranch Garden, Rose Garden, Shakespeare Garden and a Subtropical Garden. An interesting bit of trivia about the fountain at the end of this long expanse graced by statues on either side (most of which dates from the late 17th and early 18th centuries):
The 17th century, Istrian stone, Italian fountain had been brought to England in the early 18th-century and remained there until it was purchased by Henry Huntington in 1915. It was shipped from New York in 48 boxes that filled an entire railway car. Oddly enough, the fountain arrived without assembly instructions and with a few extra pieces. ... ;oD
