I'M HERE TO EMPOWER YOU!
I’m an artist . . . but that’s not saying much, because I believe, and it is something that I have devoted my time heavily to convey, that art expression is an inherent property of human nature. The media may vary, but not the innate disposition.
Those that know me have heard my “talent-as-myth” diatribe all too often, and if you end up tuning in to my posts, you will encounter it soon enough. It is my goal to change the notion, which a great number of people resign to, that one needs to have “talent” to pursue the art they feel or want and am doing this on a daily basis through my program in the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers.
With that as preface, I will probably devote a portion of my posts to inspiring artists, but I also plan to impart other conceptions that I have about life in general, with the goal of elevating, encouraging, enlivening or energizing those who read them.
Let me begin with this:
I wish for you the ability to create for yourself all that your heart desires.

The Path You Choose
The Path You Choose
I was reminded of this incredible woman, Ernestine Shepard, who, in her mid-seventies, became the oldest world female body-building champion. (http://goo.gl/gsv7) And she didn't start her journey of success until late in life.
For anything to exist in your life, it needs to be created.
This includes your health -- good or bad.
This includes your ability -- good or bad.
This includes your emotional reactions -- good or bad.
This includes your relationships -- good or bad.
We create the bad stuff as much as the good.
The truth is, many people don't take responsibility for what happens in their lives -- oftentimes believing that the choices they make in life are thrust upon them by "others" or circumstance. They forget that they are the ultimate cause in the forces of their own lives.
Sure, we get strapped down by mortgages, kids, medical liabilities and distressed family members. But the day that we walk out the door and say, "I, me, and only me, am going to do something about this today!" is the day where life begins.

ReplyDeleteThank you!
dreamy and beautiful picture...
ReplyDeleteand difficult words... especially for those who know the feeling of guilt all too well :(
feeling guilty because i was not ugly enough that others did not spare me from violence (psychic, physic and sexual violence is like being killed inside), feeling guilty because i was not like other girls (and now, like other women), feeling guilty that my family fell into pieces (both parents always had/have been annoyed [and they still are] because i was [/am] not as i should have been) and both chose new partners and had new children, feeling guilty that there is always someone who has much more worth, that i am always the one who is thrown away like waste... :(
could drown in guilt
and today i am still confronted and tormented with being reminded (and no one [especially those who are around me] understands how it is to be in hell, and how it is when others always keep all the pain "alive"), and trapped...
my big mistake is love... because it is a trap... it is terrible that the most terrible wounds can be caused by the people who are dear... love is nothing but pain... and too often i wish i would not have feelings, i would not have this stupid weak little heart, that has been broken too often (all who are dear - family, friends, someone special - can break a heart).
When someone says "i love you" he/she can promise everything, can say everything and because of this yearning to be loved, there is naivity and vulnerability, a wish to trust and to believe... and then they hurt and go... and feeling like waste
please forgive these sad words... but all this "you can do, if you only want to" words, which come like a dogma, heard them too often (and too often by people who do not know hell) they suffocate me
best wishes to you dear Robin Griggs Wood , and to Samia Elsaid , Elisa Zita , Zoraya Tonel , Anne Yin Dee , Duane Hooper , Akins Josh , Jeff Weiss , Rick Smith

Janine Viviane Hofmann -- I say this without rancor or upset at your words, but you are not the only one who has gone through hell. My words were born from my own hell and the day (the years) I took to change that hell. The real hell that you are in is the hell that you believe the words are only just dogma. The information is out there to dig yourself out. Start digging, dear. For it is only you who can save you.

ReplyDeleteI am rebuilding my life at the age of 50 after losing my job and a divorce. It's a slap in the face to work for half of what I was earning. However, I am constantly looking for something better rather than complaining about my status. My next step is obtaining a skill that will make me more marketable to employers.A journey begins with a few steps.
ReplyDeleteI recently learned this at 59 years old
